Garnett Road is turned into an miniature landfill by accident early Tuesday.
The incident began around 4:00am when a Waste Management truck dumped it's load onto Garnett between 18th and 21st Street South.
Tulsa Police tell KTUL.com that the driver either didn't secure the back gate or the truck malfunctioned. Restaurant and household garbage stretched for nearly three blocks on the pavement and along side the road.
A light breeze carried hundreds of pieces of wastepaper onto neighboring property.
Waste Management crews responded quickly to clean up the mess. Tulsa police shut down Garnett Road in the area so that crews could work.
Cleanup on the road sides will continue through the day.
So far, no tickets or charges have been filed.
