A local inventor says he's found a way to keep you cool if you need to be out in the extreme heat.
Over the fall, Jim Welsh helped create a lightweight hat with a fan called the Cool Cap.
It comes in a variety of colors and can be used while doing activities outside like walking, gardening, boating, fishing, and biking.
We're told it can keep you up to 20 degrees cooler.
"You have to have the coolness come from the evaporation the fan causes," says Jim Welsh. "As I tell people, if you'll lick the back of your hand and blow on it, you can feel the evaporation. And that's what provides the cooling with this hat."
It's not very noisy and each hat has 4 AA rechargeable batteries inside.
