A man is dead following a tractor accident Thursday morning.
59-year-old Lester D. Latimar of Elmore City was operating a 1989 Peterbilt Tractor on State Highway 29 when he ran off the road to the left, hitting a tree—according to an OHP Troop F report.
The tractor reportedly overturned and threw Mr. Latimar 75 feet from the point of impact with the tree.
Latimar was taken by Elmore City EMS to Pauls Valley General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from massive injuries.
His body was then taken to Fletcher Funeral Home in Elgin.
The accident happened just before 5:30 a.m., just west of Elmore City.
According to the OHP report, a seatbelt was available but not in use.
Troopers do not believe that Mr. Latimar was operating the tractor in any improper way.
