Tulsa -
Three decades ago, the Go-Go's proclaimed "We Got the Beat" and millions agreed, creating a pop phenomenon. On Sept. 27, the legendary female pop rockers will play The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.
Tickets start at $35 and go on sale Aug 16.
The Go-Go's immediately became pop culture princesses with the 1981 debut "Beauty and the Beat." They conquered the charts and MTV, graced numerous magazine covers and were household names for four years before disbanding to pursue solo endeavors.
Led by singer Belinda Carlisle's infectious vocals, Kathy Valentine's throbbing bass, Charlotte Caffey and Jane Wiedlin's punk rock guitars and backing vocals, and Gina Shock's big beats on the drums, the Go-Go's captivated a wide cross-section of listeners and became pop sensations.
The California rockers have released four studio albums and 11 singles, including "Our Lips Are Sealed," "Vacation," "Get Up and Go," "Head Over Heels" and "Turn to You."
The Go-Go's reunited in 1999 and have continued to be a touring force, delivering the same raw energy that made them superstars in the early ‘80s.
