A film shot in Green Country is set to premier overseas.
According to the Oklahoma Film and Music Office, Terrence Malick's "To The Wonder" will debut
during the Venice Film Festival.
It will screen on September 2nd.
The romantic drama stars Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams and Javier Bardem. It's in competition to win the top honor at the world's oldest film festival.
The film's writer and director, the famously reclusive Ma lick, spent several years of his youth in Bartlesville, where his father still resides.
To the Wonder was shot in the fall of 2010 around the Bartlesville and Pawls areas and briefly in Tulsa.
The film commission says "To the Wonder" utilized the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program, which provides tax rebates and other incentives.
