Charges Filed Against Suspect in Kayla Ferrante's Murder

Charges were filed on Thursday against the suspect in the murder of Kayla Ferrante.

24-year-old Edwin Jermaine Daniels has been charged with one felony count of first-degree murder and one felony count of shooting with intent to kill in connection with the death of Kayla Danielle Ferrante on May 26th.

Ferrante was killed back in May while riding in the back of a car with her boyfriend, Neikko Dillon Perez, near 15th Street South and South 129th East Avenue.

A bullet from a semi-automatic rifle pierced the license plate, went through the car, fatally wounding Ferrante.

According to authorities, Daniels thought the vehicle he allegedly shot into was occupied by Justin "Pud" Render and Kenneth Demarco "Lil Boosie" Ferguson.

Daniels was arrested July 26th.

His court date is set for Friday.
