South Tulsa -

Firefighters began battling a grass fire in south Tulsa Friday afternoon.

The fire started just before 2:00 p.m. Friday, near 85th Street South and South Memorial Drive.

According to Tulsa's Channel 8's crew on the scene, the fire started when a semi truck pulled out of a shopping center and became entangled in a utility pole line.

The semi truck purportedly broke the power line and fled the scene.

Authorities on the scene told Tulsa's Channel 8 that the fire was completely extinguished by 3:00 p.m.

No buildings were threatened, and no one was hurt.

According to Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) spokesperson Andrea Chancellor, approximately 1400 customers were without power as of 3:00 p.m.

Ms. Chancellor said that PSO crews were on the scene removing and replacing the pole.  There was no estimated time for when power would be restored.

Police were searching for the semi truck that left the scene.
