Tulsa Charity Helping School Kids

Tulsa's John 3:16 Mission is helping get kids of to a good start this school year.

The mission will have it's annual Back to School Festival Saturday from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

It's designed to assist low income families with children in Kindergarten through 12th Grade.

Organizers expect to provide up to 1,500 children with a new pair of school uniform pants as well as other articles of gently used-clothing. The event will take place inside the organization's headquarters at 2027 N. Cincinnati.

The Blue Cross Blue Shield caring van will offer free imunizations, and Ocean Dental will provide dental care packets.

Donations to the John 3:16 mission are always welcome, organizers said.

Tulsa Police Officer a Part of 3 Gun Nation Pro Series

For the past three years, the 3 Gun Nation Pro Series shooting competition has only been for men. This year, they are opening it up to an elite group of women, and a Tulsa Police officer is one of those women. Ten ladies have earned their spot on this pro series. Each pro has to use a riffle, shotgun, and pistol, and it's not easy to be a master of all three.
