Airlines Aren't Losing Your Bags As Often

Posted: Updated:

You may have heard the good news for flyers ... airlines are losing fewer bags these days. All told, 25-million bags were mishandled last year. That's down from 32-million bags the year before.

The situation is improving partially because there's more pressure on airlines. After all, checking luggage comes with a fee... so flyers have higher expectations. Another factor... fewer people are checking their luggage because of those fees. And tracking is a big help too... flyers can download mobile apps to track their bags themselves.

One carrier is going a step further... American Airlines is offering a service so you can skip the baggage claim altogether and get your bags delivered straight to your door. Of course, this all comes with an added fee.
