Preliminary Hearing Set For Teens Charged With Carjacking Murder

The preliminary hearing for two Tulsa teens  charged with killing a woman while trying to steal her car is set for Wednesday afternoon in a Tulsa County courtroom.

Back in March, 45-year-old Avonna Olson was killed when she attempted to stop the teens from stealing her vehicle.  Arrest reports state that 19-year-old Brandon Maxwell and 18-year-old Destin Rodriguez ran over Olson while making off in her vehicle.  

Olson was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive injuries sustained when the suspects ran over her in her own vehicle.  

The suspects were later located and booked in Tulsa County Jail.

Maxwell  and Rodriguez both face 2nd degree murder charges as well as Larceny of an Automobile and Leaving the Scene of a Fatality Accident.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled to start at 1:30 pm.
