A Muskogee couple that has been booked on complaints of a brutal stabbing may be persons of interest in a double-homicide investigation that is ongoing in Tahlequah, law enforcers say.
Creek County Jail confirmed that Jessie Leppke and Tracy Redford were both booked on charges of aggravated assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
Tahlequah Police and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation have been working the double homicide that happened Wednesday in Tahlequah.
On Wednesday evening, Tahlequah police were sent to the home to make a welfare check.
When they arrived, Police say no one would come to the door. Officers forced entry and found two bodies that showed signs of significant trauma.
According to the victims' family members, 48 year-old Angela Finley and 64-year-old Jassie Catron had been mutilated beyond recognition.
Authorities say they believe the victims were stabbed to death.
The Tahlequah Police Department contacted OSBI agents are continuing their investigation.
Leppke and Redford are both being help on $75,000 bond.
