Midtown Tulsa -

Thousands of people showed up for the casting call for "AUGUST OSAGE COUNTY." The new movie features Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. Today at the Promenade Mall hopefuls gathered to snag a spot in the movie as an extra.

Chris Freihofer, Casting Call Director says, "We're looking for non-speaking people to appear in the back of the film. They're called background artists or extras and they just fill the streets fill restaurants or offices of whatever they're just the people that fill out the movie."

Filming should begin at the end of September. The movie is based on a play and will tell the story of how a family comes together after a loved one goes missing. Next Saturday the search for extras moves to the Bartlesville High School.
