The Sand Springs Rodeo Arena was rocking Saturday night with a benefit concert. All to help Creek County residents affected by the wildfires. The organizers say their main focus was on the families that didn't have insurance. The music got the people in the gate, but the reason behind the people coming is much bigger.
"We have a few members of our club that lost their places," says Kelly Goodbar, Activity Director Sand Springs Roundup Club.
That's when the Sand Springs Roundup Club decided they need to do something for everyone affected and recording artist Kinsey Sadler was ready to help.
"When anything happens to Tulsa or the surrounding areas like the Creek County area, it hits home. It's not something that just goes over your head," says Kinsey Sadler.
Sadler has gone around the area to see what damage was there
"It almost looks like a war zone. It's nothing but ash and everything is pretty much destroyed. I don't even think I could imagine what it would be like to be that family and watch just my childhood memories be rubble on the ground," says Sadler.
This concert also had a live and silent auction and a place for people to get food so they could raise even more money because the idea of all these people without is still the hard part.
"I can not imagine what it would be like if I lost everything and I didn't know where to go," says Sadler.
