To the Wonder was shot in the fall of 2010 around the Bartlesville and Pawhuska areas, as well as briefly in Tulsa.
Additional shooting took place in early 2011 in Bartlesville and Paris, France.
The project utilized the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program, administered by the Oklahoma Film & Music Office.
Writer/Director Terrence Malick spent several years of his youth in Bartlesville, where his father still resides.
Top-billed cast members include Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Rachel Weisz, Olga Kurylenko, Javier Bardem, Barry Pepper, Jessica Chastain, Michael Sheen, and Amanda Peet.
The plot: After visiting Mont Saint-Michel, Marina and Neil come to Oklahoma—where Marina meets a priest struggling with his chosen vocation, while Neil renews his relationship with childhood friend Jane.
To the Wonder is set to premiere on September 2nd at the 69th Venice Film Festival, which runs from August 29th through September 8th.
