Mike Stoops Enters New Big 12

Posted: Updated:

Oklahoma fans hope Mike Stoops return to Norman will help shore up some deficiency's on defense.  The Sooners new defensive coordinator is no stranger to the Big 12.

But Mike will face a much faster tempoed league than the one he left in 2003.  Lots of no huddle and offenses that are looking to snap the ball 85-95 times a game.

But he should get used to it quickly going against Landry Jones and company in practice everyday.

"Our team is as fast as anybody so it's good to go up against our team."  Mike Stoops said, "I think it's going to prepare us well for what we're going to see on Saturday."

The Sooners open the season on September the 1st against UTEP in El Paso, TX.  The kickoff is set for 9:30pm Tulsa-Time.
