A group called Operation Aware says cyber threats are increasingly common.
The group taught parents and kids at Boston Avenue Methodist Church about cyber safety.
They say your address and phone number aren't the only dead givaways.
Kids often tell too much about themselves on the net like their school or what number they wear on a sports team.
Parents are often the last to know about the leaks.
"While I don't think anybody needs to be a helicopter parent with the Internet," says Jeni Dolan, lead prevention educator. "We do need to make our kids understand that everything they put out there is no longer private."
Dolan says you shouldn't use the check-in feature on Facebook.
Only post events after the fact so people won't know your every move.
