Church Needs Help Organizing Donations, Trailers For Victims

Posted: Updated:

Following the wild fires, there has been an outpouring of community support.

As you recall, Freedom Hill Baptist Church in Mannford took in tons of donations for the victims.

So many donations in fact, workers there are overwhelmed by the sheer amount.

Now, they're asking for your help organizing all of that stuff.

Dawn Garside is a church member and volunteer. She says, "We need a lot of volunteers. We don't have a lot of people that are capable of helping out right now. So we need volunteers to sort through clothes and household goods. We get stuff everyday and it can be a bit overwhelming."

To volunteer your time, please call the church at 918-352-3944. Or you can just show up.

More than anything, dawn says, fire victims need homes.

They're living in tents without any running water.

If you or someone you know can donate a trailer, families are desperate for shelter.
