Driver licenses in Oklahoma are getting a new look.
The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety has revealed a new design for driver licenses issued in the state.
Officials said the new design puts Oklahoma in line with national standards adopted by other states.
"The new license meets rigorous security requirements, and will not only upgrade our system, but enhance customer service as well," said Michael C. Thompson, Commissioner for the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety.
Authorities also are changing the system used to issue licenses. The changes will be released next week in Edmond as a trial and statewide in the coming weeks.
As part of the change, veterans will be able to identify themselves on their license by choosing to have a veteran's insignia added to their license beginning in November.
The new system is expected to be fully implemented in three to four months.
