Friday morning, the Reverend Jesse Jackson traveled to Tulsa to speak to the congregation at First Baptist Church in North Tulsa and to students at Central High School.
Jackson spoke about the importance of getting an education, avoiding violence and learning to live in unity with all people.
"We must also learn to live together. The beauty of this school is you have students here black and white and brown together, Learning to live together. That is a great American challenge. We have learned to survive apart. We must now learn to live together."
Last night, Jackson attended a forum in Stillwater supporting an OSU basketball player convicted of raping two women at a party.
He was also set to attend sentencing for Darrell Williams, but a judge delayed it.
Attorneys for Williams are asking for a new trial.
In July, an all- white jury found him guilty of "rape by instrumentation" against two white women at a house party.
And since his conviction, there's been an outpouring of support for Williams.
Relatives and other supporters say, it's a case of misidentification and racial profiling.
There's also a push online to set Williams free.
