FAA Reconsidering Electronics Rule Change On Planes

Posted: Updated:

The FAA may be considering some rule changes on airplanes.

You may soon be able to read a book on your Kindle, play a game on your iPad, or watch a DVD on your laptop from gate to gate.

The agency is forming a group to review its electronics policies.

The FAA now limits devices because of fears they could interfere with airplane communications and navigation systems.

However, no changes will be made to the cell phone policy since that's banned by the FCC instead.

The study is expected to take at least 6 months.
