A Gore man is dead after a crash in Sequoyah County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigated the incident, which happened Tuesday around 6:20pm.

Troopers on scene said 45-year-old Samuel Miller was on his motorcycle at an intersection on Highway 64 west of Sallisaw.

He was sitting behind another car that had stopped and was waiting to turn left.

Troopers said Brent Carter, 27, of Vian, came up behind Miller and the other car. The accident report states Carter's SUV rear ended Miller's motorcycle.

Samuel Miller was taken to a Fort Smith, Ark. hospital where he later died. He was not wearing a helmet.

Carter and the people in another involved vehicle were not hurt.

The OHP preliminary accident report shows inattention as the collision's cause.
