The Oklahoma Sooners win over UTEP Saturday night was less than spectacular. OU beat the Minors 24-7, but were knocked at seven for most of the contest.
One good thing that came out of the game was we got to see the new and improved Landry Jones. If you'll remember Landry spent some time in the off-season with quarterback guru George Whitfield.
They worked on foot work and mobility. It showed Saturday in El Paso as Landry was able to move around the pocket much better and get away from defenders.
"Now with Landry being able to move. Not that he wasn't mobile before." OU Receiver Kenny Stills said, "But his foot work has gotten a lot better. It just shows all of us that we have to continue to play down the field and expect the unexpected."
"You prepare and work on different things." OU Quarterback Landry Jones said, "Working on that mobility and moving, throwing on the run and different things like that really helped me out on Saturday."
The Sooners make the 2012 home debut this Saturday against NCAA Division-IA Florida A&M. Kickoff at Owen Field is scheduled for 6:00pm.
