A Green Country man is behind bars accused of raping a young girl.
Chris Denman, 20, of Tulsa is being held on $100,000 bond after a 13-year-old reported the incident.
Police arrested him on two complaints, one of rape against a minor and the other oral sodomy of a minor.
According to booking documents, the victim said she was assaulted at the Victory Christian complex by an employee.
It's unclear if Denman works with either the school or church.
The victim first told church administrators about the incident on August 15th, and was interviewed again on August 22nd. Church officials notified the victim's mother and police of their findings on August 30th.
Officer Leland Ashley, with the Tulsa Police Department, can't speak on why it took two weeks for officials to contact the police department but it is against the law.
"School systems and churches, you have to report these type of incidents," says Officer Ashley.
It's called failure to report and it makes these cases harder when people don't come forward. Officer Ashley says younger victims usually give them more details when they are victims. But they don't like taking changes on people remembering things days later.
"It's hard as a detective if you have to back track where maybe evidence or witnesses things like that could have been there up front," says Officer Ashley.
Formal charges have not been filed.
