Car Seat Safety Check Station Comes To Broken Arrow

Posted: Updated:

A new place check your child's car seat is coming to Broken Arrow.

The Safe Kids Tulsa organization announced Thursday that they will open a new car safety seat checkpoint at the Broken Arrow fire station on Lynn Lane north of Albany Street.

The first check event happens Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00pm and will continue on the first Thursday of every month from now on.

Safe Kids Tulsa organizers said they do these kinds of events to save lives.

According to their press release, motor vehicle crashes are the leading killer of children ages one to 14. They urge parents to put infants and children in safety or booster seats when they ride in the car.

The seats should be used until children are big enough to fit properly into an adult safety belt, usually around four feet, nine inches tall and 80 to 100 pounds.

Families can call (918) 494-SAFE or go to www.safekidstulsa.com for a schedule of monthly car seat check up events.
