Gas Prices Ease Across Metro Area

There is a welcome sight at filling stations across the Tulsa metro area.

Gas prices are finally easing down after rising to nearly $3.80 a gallon at some stores.

Our crews noticed prices near $3.55 a gallon in west Tulsa, in the wake of Hurricane Isaac.

Prices took off as the storm headed towards New Orleans. Oil producing platforms in the Gulf of Mexico and refineries along the coast shut down.

AAA said that the average price per gallon in Tulsa is about the same now as it was a year ago.
