Rain Helps Extinguish Wildfire Near Pawnee

Pawnee, Oklahoma -

Rain helps extinguish a large grass fire near Pawnee.

At one point, residents were being evacuated from an area several miles west of town.

A Pawnee fire captain said the blaze was about one mile wide and traveled about 5 miles.

No occupied homes were burned, but some outbuildings and barns were lost.

No injuries were reported.
