Kandyce Haubert
Tulsa -
A Glenpool mother was arrested after she was caught going 35 miles over the speed limit on Monday evening with her two-year-old and five-month-old children.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrested Kandyce Haubert of Glenpool after she was caught driving 91 mph in a 65 speed limit zone on U.S. 75.
After pulling her over, the trooper found that Haubert had a two-year-old and a five-month-old child in the backseat of the car. The five-month-old's car seat also wasn't properly attached to the car.
According to the report, the trooper asked Haubert why she was driving over the speed limit, in which she responded that she was almost out of gas. After reducing the speed on the citation and providing an explanation, Haubert said she could not pay for the ticket because she already had another one she needed to pay.
Haubert was informed that she could make payment arrangements with the court clerk for the citation, but she said that she would rather go to jail instead of the paying for another ticket.
The trooper proceeded to call dispatch to get hold of DHS who advised him to call a relative to come pick up Haubert's children.
After a wrecker was called for the vehicle Haubert was speeding in, she began to scream and yell, according to the report. She was then placed under arrest and moved into the patrol car.
While in the patrol car, Haubert removed the seatbelt and began screaming again. The trooper then took her out of the car and had her sit on the ground and wait for a family member to pick up the children and the wrecker for her car.
