A standoff in West Tulsa ends after police release a chemical inside house.

Captain Ryan Perkins said police were called around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday for a home disturbance near 49th W. Ave and Charles Page Blvd.

The suspect's son called Tulsa police and said his dad choked him.  Neighbors also called the police after the suspect fired gunshots in the backyard.

Police from the Gilcrease Division set up a perimeter around the house and tried to get the suspect to surrender.  After refusing to do so, Special Operations teams came to help.

Authorities released a chemical agent inside the house.   The suspect came out not too long after that.

Police took the man in custody.  He is under investigation for the felony domestic violence.

Police have not released his name and continue to search his home for weapons.
