ACHOO! Top Cities For Fall Allergies

Posted: Updated:

Local allergy doctors say, they're seeing more patients lately.

But that's really no big surprise.

Once again, Oklahoma is listed as one of the top states for Fall allergies.

According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, Tulsa is number 10 in the nation.

And Oklahoma City is number five.

The rankings are based on pollen scores, medications per patient and the number of allergy specialists in the area.

By the way, Knoxville, Tennessee is number one for Fall allergies.

The issues in Tulsa right now are ragweed, mold other weeds, pollen, and grass.

The weather and wind are also making things worse.

The primary complaints are eye itching and increased wheezing.

Ways to avoid allergy attacks:

-Begin taking over the counter antihistamine in combination with eye drops now even if you aren't suffering from any symptoms.

-Wash your lashes.

-Shower before going to bed.

-Look into getting a neti pot.
