The 98th Rogers County Fair returned to Claremore this week to entertain residents both young and old.
The Claremore Expo Center will host the Rogers County Fair beginning today through September 16. In addition to the food and live music for adults, the fair will also have activities for kids and opportunities to shop inside the Expo Hall.
At the Main Stage, bands like the Sam Cox Band and Heath Wright and the Hangmen will perform their own brand of Oklahoma music for free, according to the press release.
"I got the opportunity to meet Heath this spring in Oklahoma City and I am excited about this addition to the Rogers County Fair" marketing coordinator Lisa Dennis said.
The press release also highlighted a new partnership with the Texaco County Showdown, the nation's largest country music talent show. Radio stations around Oklahoma are holding contests to send the best in Oklahoma to the Rogers County Fair in hopes of winning and making it to the National competition held in Nashville.
Handmade items also will be sold inside the expo center on Friday and Saturday, while the 4-H Club will have a barn yard area set in the Indoor Arena with goats, calves and sheep for children at the fair.
According to the press release, there will be $20 wristband specials through Saturday from 6 to 10 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
