Coalgate Man Dies After Crash Near Eufaula

A crash claims the life of a Coalgate man Friday night near Eufaula.

OHP Troopers investigated the one-car crash Friday night on the Highway 9A ramp to southbound US Highway 69.

Thomas Cosper, 81, was behind the wheel. Ruby Hoskison, 86, was riding with him.

Troopers said their car left the road to the right, rolled two times and came to a rest on its roof.

Cosper was pinned for more than an hour. He later died at the McAlester hospital from his injuries.

Hoskison was also seriously hurt. She was taken to McAlester, and then on to a Tulsa hospital.

Troopers said both were wearing their seat belts. They're still working to investigate the cause.
