Hundreds of cancer survivors and their families take it to Tulsa's streets for the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

The 16th 5K Run and Walk happened Saturday morning downtown under cool, cloudy skies. ONEOK field was at the center of it all.

The race is a chance to raise money for breast cancer research and celebrate those who have beaten the disease.

It's also a time to remember those who've died and that the fight against cancer isn't done.

Folks came from across the area to take part. Despite the cause, organizers said attendance this year is down by about 1,000 over last year.

Officials said up to 75-percent of Komen Tulsa's net income each year funds grants to local organizations that provide breast health education, screening and treatment programs.

The remaining 25-percent helps fund the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grant Program.
