Veteran Teaching Kids The Importance Of Giving Blood

A Green Country veteran spends a decade teaching kids the importance of giving blood.

Murry Estabrook is a naval science teacher at Claremore High School.

This is his tenth year helping teens get trained with the Oklahoma Blood Institute.

kids from 13 schools will help set up school blood drives later this year.

"I think it's important to the kids to get an experience on giving back to the community. It's personally important to me after a 25 year Naval career of seeing so many people in so many ways need blood."

Murry says the kids do a tremendous job and even rival some colleges.

Tulsa Police Officer a Part of 3 Gun Nation Pro Series

For the past three years, the 3 Gun Nation Pro Series shooting competition has only been for men. This year, they are opening it up to an elite group of women, and a Tulsa Police officer is one of those women. Ten ladies have earned their spot on this pro series. Each pro has to use a riffle, shotgun, and pistol, and it's not easy to be a master of all three.
