Historical society is hosting a press conference today to commemorate the transfer of an unpublished early Tahlequah history manuscript.

A manuscript written in the 1930s by historian Carolyn Foreman will presented to the Gilcrease Museum today at the Tulsa Historical Society. The event will begin at 10:30 am.

Foreman's unpublished manuscript of early Tahlequah history was found by Ian Stuart, THS archivist and collections manager in the Rotary Club of Tulsa/Beryl Ford Collection, according to a press release from the society.

The Gilcrease Museum also houses several of Grant Foreman's, Caryloyn's husband, historical texts. When THS made the connection, they determined the manuscripts would best be accompanied alongside her husband's works.

Michelle Place, executive director of THS, will present the manuscripts to Duane H. King, executive director of the Gilcrease Museum, for inclusion into the museum's collection, according to the press release.
