A southbound coal train derailed near Oktaha in Muskogee County Tuesday morning.
According to a Union Pacific Director of Corporate Relations and Media Raquel Espinoza, the train derailed around 10:20 a.m. and a total of 31 train cars piled up.
Espinoza stated that there were no injuries and that the area was secure.
It is still too early to tell what could have caused the coal train to derail although there will be an investigation, Espinoza said.
