Downtown Tulsa -
The Central Library could be facing another bed bug problem. An employee found a "suspicious bug" Tuesday, so the library is inviting back the bed bug sniffing dog it hired earlier this summer.
The library remained open this week and did not close off any part of the building.
"We don't feel it's a widespread problem," said the library's chief operating officer Laurie Sundborg. "If we have a problem at all, we're not at all certain."
Miss Liberty Bell, the state's only bed bug sniffing dog, is a beagle. She will be returning to the library Saturday to search for a larger problem.
The library did not post any signs indicating its potential bug problem, as officials do not feel the threat is large enough to warrant that. Still, almost everyone Channel 8 spoke with said they would have preferred a warning before entering the building.
"It's bigger than that, and if you found one then it's already too late," said Nicole Leatherman.
Officials expect the results of Miss Liberty Bell's search will be available sometime next week.
