Victory Christian Center leaders and churchgoers prayed for the alleged victims of the child sex abuse investigation during Sunday morning service.

Victory streamed the church service on its website, victory.com.

Pastor Sharon Daugherty and another church leader addressed the congregation about the ongoing investigation.

"I want to begin by saying how personally grieved I am over the whole situation," said Daugherty. She responded to questions about what she knew during the two-week period it took for the church to contact police about the rape allegations.

"I was told at that moment that it was being reported, but I did not receive any details on the specific allegations," she said. She recalled having been told two former employees had behaved inappropriately. She said she had been told human resources would report the allegations to the police.

Church leaders prayed for the victims, their families, all involved, and the rest of the congregation. They pledged to continue to cooperate with police investigations. They also said they plan to work with the DHS to evaluate their policies to better protect all young people.
