The Oklahoma Blood Institute is holding a "Golden Hurricane Blood Drive" on the TU campus beginning today.

You can donate blood from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday through Thursday at the Allen Chapman Activity Center and on OBI bloodmobiles throughout the campus.

"Without a doubt, we're thrilled to host the Golden Hurricane Blood Drive," said John Armitage, OBI president and CEO. "We fully expect this year to set the golden standard of blood donation on TU's campus."

According to OBI, someone needs blood every two seconds. Donors provide blood needed by patients in more than 140 medical facilities across Oklahoma.

All donors will receive a "Feel Golden" T-shirt and a chance to win an autographed football.

For more information on OBI and their donor centers across Oklahoma, visit their website at www.obi.org or call (877) 340-8777.
