Wes Lunt Improving Enough To Face Texas?

Posted: Updated:

The Oklahoma State Cowboys get back at it this week when they open Big 12 play.  The Pokes are hosting the 10th ranked Texas Longhorns Saturday in Stillwater.

After watching starting quarterback Wes Lunt go down a couple of weeks ago against Louisiana I'm not sure too many Cowboys fans expect to see him back in the line-up this week.

The true freshman unofficially dislocated a knee cap in their last game.

But OSU head coach Mike Gundy says he's doing quit well and he may be a little ahead of schedule.

"Some guys just based on the type of injury, it is really hard to predict." Said Gundy, "But I know when they said they were taking him out of the cast and they weren't putting one back on that was a good thing.  He's going to be in a brace, but it can come on and off.  So I think he'll be out there with us this week before the end of the week."

The Cowboys and the Longhorns kickoff Saturday at 6:50.  The Pokes have beaten the Horns the last two-years in Austin.  Texas owns the overall series by and overwhelming margin of 4-22.
