Tulsa State Fair visitors will be able to get their insurance questions answered at a Consumer Assistance booth.
The Oklahoma Insurance Department will host the booth during the fair's run from Sept. 27 to Oct. 7. The booth will be located inside the QuikTrip Center, in QuikTrip Zone C and manned by OID workers from different departments.
"We had a tremendous response to our booth at the Oklahoma State Fair," said Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak. "Now we're excited for round two in Tulsa."
According to a release, OID employees spoke to thousands of fairgoers and answered their insurance-related questions. Educational materials about Medicare, fraud protection, disaster preparedness and other topics were handed out.
This same information also will be available at the Tulsa State Fair. On Oct. 2, Commissioner Doak will be at the booth from 2-4 pm to answer consumer questions.
"We're here to serve the people of Oklahoma," Doak said. "Many of our citizens still don't know how we can help, or even what we do. That's why events like these are so important."
The Tulsa State Fair is just one of 44 outreach events the OID has scheduled for the month of September. Other events include Senior Fraud Conferences, Senior Summits for Medicare Enrollment, Workers' Compensation Issues Forums and more
