Lewis At I-44 To Shut Down Monday

Posted: Updated:
Midtown Tulsa -

Lewis will close at the I-44 junction Monday.

This final stage of the widening process starts at 9 a.m. and is expected to take a little over a year and a half to complete.

All northbound and southbound traffic on Lewis will be diverted to both Peoria and Harvard.

The new part of  I-44 will shift to the south of the existing highway and widen the road from four lanes to six.

Drivers should expect significant delays in this area.

The project is an estimated $40 million and includes safety improvements for the Lewis ramps and bridge.
