Police Investigate Deadly Home Invasion

Posted: Updated:

Tulsa police are looking for suspects after a deadly home invasion. It happened near 58th and South Peoria. One man died, and another is recovering this morning.

Police say they had concerns about this area and were already close by. They just didn't get there fast enough.

Police swarmed the apartment complex looking for details and clues. A witness called 9-1-1 from inside the apartment around midnight. Saying shots had been fired. Police say when they arrived, they found a man dead inside the residence, and an ambulance took the other victim to a hospital.

Investigators say the only witness they have is the surviving victim. They don't know much about what happened.

Police say this area has been an issue, and that a task force was working nearby. However, they say this act of violence happened so fast they could not get there to stop it.

"We are told there was a knock on the door, and someone invaded home, shots rang out and our victims didn't see anything. We literally don't even have a suspect description at this point," said Captain Travis Yates, of the Tulsa Police Department.

Police say the surviving victim is able to speak, and should recover.
