Four Thunder Players Crack ESPN's Top 500 Players

Posted: Updated:

ESPN.com has ranked the top 500 NBA players, as the 2012-2013 season draws closer.  Four members of the Oklahoma City Thunder are featured prominently on the list:

No. 2 - Kevin Durant
KD leads the way for the Thunder, trailing only LeBron James as the best player in the league.  Durant lead the league in scoring for the third straight season, scoring 28 points per game.

No. 9 - Russell Westbrook
Last year, Russ was ranked as the 15th best player in the league.  But after a season where he averaged 23.6 points per game and 5.5 assists, Westbrook vaults into the top 10.

No. 26 - James Harden
The NBA's Sixth Man of the Year comes in just outside the Top 25.  The Beard is still awaiting a new Thunder contract, so it might be beneficial to point out that Roy Hibbert (No. 35) and Eric Gordon (No. 38) already received max contracts this offseason. Just sayin'.

No. 41 - Serge Ibaka
One of the NBA's best defensive players cracks the Top 50. Ibaka averaged 9.1 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game in a spectacular 2011-2012 season.

Two other notes from this year's list: Former Sooner star Blake Griffin comes in at No. 14. And the 500th ranked player is Eddy Curry, the former No. 4 overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft.
