
The days are starting to turn cooler and many cooks start thinking of adding apples to their cooking line-up. This baked apple dessert is so yummy that you might be tempted to serve it not just during the fall, but throughout the year!
2 (8 ounce) tubes refrigerated crescent rolls
2 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 cup Mountain Dew
Ground cinnamon
Freshly grated nutmeg
1/2 cup toasted chopped pecans, optional, more if needed
Vanilla ice cream
Makes 16 dumplings.
Note: If making ahead, follow the recipe exactly except for pouring the Mountain Dew around
the dumplings. Place Saran Wrap tightly over pan and refrigerate. When ready to bake, reheat
oven to 350 degrees F., remove from refrigerator and pour Mountain Dew around each roll.
