More than 40,000 cars are being recalled by General Motors due to a plastic part that could cause a fuel leak should it crack.
The Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 sedans from 2007 through 2009 model years and Chevrolet Equinoxes, Pontiac Torrents and Saturn Ions from the 2007 model year are being recalled.
Oklahoma and Arkansas owners of the 2009 Cobalt and the G5 will be affected by the recall. The rest of the recalled vehicles affect owners in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada or Texas.
A fuel leak caused by the crack could lead to a fire, although there have been no reports of fires or injuries, according to GM.
The problem is more common in warm-weather states, according to GM.
