Downtown Tulsa -

Brady District business owners told Channel 8 Sunday Guthrie Green has increased foot traffic and boosted business considerably in the month its been open.

This Sunday was the first Sunday Market at Guthrie Green. Hundreds came to shop among the 20 vendors, and many stayed for the live music in the park that followed.

"I would call this an oasis in the middle of Tulsa," said Sharon Benjamin, a volunteer at the market.

Businesses, both old and new, have been feeling the effects of Guthrie Green's presence in the area.

"Our business has changed dramatically," said Gypsy Coffeehouse owner Bradley Garcia. "It's brought families back down to downtown areas. If you haven't noticed, you see strollers and dogs and people walking through the park."

Garcia said he has lengthened the hours of his staff to compensate for the increased business. He has also hired more people.

Matt Kelley's Lucky's on the Green restaurant has been open for four weeks. He said he has seen a lot of foot traffic on the weekends and hopes to see a steadier crowds on weekdays once a few more businesses open in the area. He said this restaurant caters to the environmentally sensitive, young crowd Guthrie Green attracts.

Guthrie Green's next Sunday market will be October 28th.
