Tulsans Can Help Fight Pancreatic Cancer

Posted: Updated:

This weekend, a lot of Tulsans will be joining the fight against pancreatic cancer.

It is one of the deadliest forms of cancer, with patients having only a 6% survival rate.

Almost 75% of them don't survive for a year.

Part of the problem is a lack of funding for research.

So PurpleStride Tulsa 2012, will raise money to help meet that challenge and the needs of cancer patients.

The event is presented by Cancer Treatment Centers of America and it takes place Saturday October 6th at 9:00am, at the Turkey Mountain's Urban Wilderness.

It is and event for the whole family and it will benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

You can enjoy a timed 5K trail run or 1-mile awareness walk.

There will also be kids' activities, music and much more.
