
A section of U.S. Highway 169 in Owasso will be dedicated to the service of a fallen soldier on Saturday.
The highway will be dedicated to Sgt. Schuyler B. Patch of Owasso who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2009.
He was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 106th Cavalry Regiment, 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team of Kewanee, Illinois.
The dedication ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM at Tyann Plaza, 9455 Owasso Expressway Frontage Road in Owasso.
Sen. Rick Brinkley and Rep. David Derby authored Senate Bill 1320 which designates U.S. Highway 169 from 86th Street North to 96th Street North the "Sgt. Schuyler B. Patch Memorial Highway."
For the past three years, the 3 Gun Nation Pro Series shooting competition has only been for men. This year, they are opening it up to an elite group of women, and a Tulsa Police officer is one of those women. Ten ladies have earned their spot on this pro series. Each pro has to use a riffle, shotgun, and pistol, and it's not easy to be a master of all three.
