Wagoner Man Dies In Mayes County Crash

Posted: Updated:

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say James Butler, 36, from Wagoner died after being pinned inside his car for an hour.

The accident occurred Saturday morning on Highway 412 just 2 miles west of Choteau.

An accident report indicates that a vehicle driven by Jacob Martin, 18, failed to yield at a yield sign and then collided with Butler. Butler's vehicle then overturned and landed on its top.

Martin, the driver in the other car, was treated at the hospital before being released.

The report indicates Butler was not wearing his seat belt, but the airbag did deploy.
