School Grading System Delayed

Posted: Updated:

The State Board of Education voted 6-0 to delay the A through F grading system this morning. The board wants the state superintendent to look into the academic growth part of the system.

More then 70 superintendent came out last week against the system saying it was flawed. All scores were based on a average scale that, Tulsa Public School Superintendent says just doesn't add up.

Area superintendent's did make it to the board meeting this morning and say they are please the system will be looked into so they can reach a fair agreement.

"We have a chance to collaborate. That's what we have been asking to do or have a conversation with the State Board of Education and the State Superintendent," says Jarod Mendenhall, Broken Arrow Superintendent.

The superintendents now believe the state board will listen to them and parents on this matter. The State Board of Education is giving 30 days to figure out a new way to scale the academic growth.
